August 2013
August 20th - 27th, My whole family decided to take a trip down to Gold Coast in Brisbane for a week. When we had landed in Brisbane the first thing I noticed was the change in weather, how different it was compared to the hot Darwin weather that we were used to. We had definitely chosen the perfect time to leave the hot weather for a place where we could all relax and cool down. My Family had decided to rent out a bus to take us everywhere, where my dad was the designated driver. The first place we went was the house that we had rented for the week, with each family having one room to themselves and the view from the back of the house being a lake. We had used the first day to go to the Mall and Supermarket to stock up on groceries that we needed for the week. During the drive, I noticed the busy roads, how the cars were lined up behind one another, yet traffic was no issue with the all the cars moving smoothly. The sky was clear and the sun was out yet the breeze was nice and cool. Before buying the groceries at the supermarket, my Family decided to take the opportunity to walk around the mall and going into some of the branded stores, like Nike and Myers. To sum up, The shopping was AMAZING! The rest of the days for the week were all planned, getting to visit two of the Theme parks; Sea World and Movie World, plus one of the water parks; Wet 'n' Wild. The experience of going to the water park was great, though I feel that it would've been better if we had come during a warmer season, the water was FREEZING! like yeah, it was definitely fun, the wave pool was great and all the water slides were thrilling, but it would've been better if we weren't shivering on the way into the water and out. Here's a good tip: If your going to a place where visiting water parks are involved, go during summer, the experience will be 10x better! Out of the two theme parks I would definitely recommend you visit Movie World, mostly because of the fact that the rides were absolutely amazing, plus the events that happen throughout the day make the experience even more worthwhile. During the visit to this theme park I had actually pushed my boundaries by going on rollercoasters, here's something you should know about me; Rollercoasters and I DO NOT go together. But I was like "Why not live every once in a while?" that was the best decision I made, cause I enjoyed every thrill that I had gotten while on the rides. ALSO the Parade... oh.. my.. goodness... IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Being able to see pretty much every Warner Bro's Character and Heroes come and parade around the Main Square of the park was great! I could not have asked for a better experience. ~ DREAM | TRAVEL | EXPLORE ~ |
