July 2015
So 1st-3rd July 2015, myself and my youth group had travelled down to Cairns for a Youth Conference that was happening there. When we first landed in Cairns I was immediately amazed by it's beauty! The mountains that we saw surrounded us, the skies were constantly clear and it was that type of weather where is wasn't too hot nor was it too cold! It was so lovely compared to the weather in Darwin, my hometown, where in the mornings it would be nice and cool, but by the afternoon you would be drenched in your own sweat. 2 out of 3 days in Cairns were spent at the Venue for the conference, but on that third day we were able to have the opportunity to watch the sunset at the beach near the waterfront, it was absolutely beautiful, the way the colour of the skies changed from the light blue to the orange sky with pink and purple tinges throughout it just watching it with amazing people gave off a homey and relaxed vibe, like as if in that moment everything froze in time where we could savour the moment. Once it was night we stayed at the waterfront where the trees surrounding us were covered in lights brightening up the night with their beautiful colours, we were also able to walk around at the Night Markets where it was full of life and many souvenirs could be bought, there was amazing food and self serve eateries. By self serve eateries I mean they didn't place the food onto the size plate that you have chosen, more like you buy the size plate and get what you wanted and for very good prices as well! Myself and the Girls from our youth group then stayed at a Coordinators house up near the mountains quite far from the city, the gave off quite a resemblance to Philippines with the mountains surrounding us, the warm yet cool air around made it feel like you were in a different country instead of a different state. The morning after is where you could really see the beauty of the mountains and the sky. All in all I found this place an amazing place to visit and would definitely recommend to those who are thinking of travelling somewhere out of the country, but aren't exactly ready to leave just yet. ~ DREAM | TRAVEL | EXPLORE ~ |

Stayed at the house of the one of the Coordinators from the Conference: the view still amazes me!
